Ngày 25/10, cảnh sát Berlin đã tịch thu nhiều vũ khí và một số lượng lớn đạn trong hàng loạt cuộc đột kích nhằm vào một đối tượng bị cáo buộc liên quan tới chủ nghĩa Hồi giáo cực đoan.

Cảnh sát thông báo, công dân Đức 40 tuổi nêu trên đã bị bắt giữ trong các cuộc đột kích ban đêm nhằm vào 4 địa điểm và dự kiến sẽ bị đưa ra tòa trong ngày. Người phát ngôn của cảnh sát Berlin Winfrid Wenzel cho hay các điều tra viên đã tìm thấy súng ngắn, súng trường và khoảng 20 tới 30 thùng đạn.

Theo ông Wenzel, nghi phạm đã tới các nhà thờ Hồi giáo được chính quyền "đặc biệt lưu ý." 

Ông Wenzel cũng phát biểu với đài truyền hình N-tv của Đức rằng chính quyền lo ngại nghi phạm "có khả năng đang theo đuổi một âm mưu" sử dụng vũ khí hoặc trao các vũ khí này cho những đối tượng khác. 

Theo giới chức Đức, các cuộc đột kích diễn ra sau một cuộc điều tra bắt đầu từ tháng 6 với việc bắt giữ một kẻ buôn ma túy, và trước mối lo ngại rằng vũ khí có thể được sử dụng trong một vụ tấn công, chính quyền đã quyết định hành động mặc dù không có thông tin về âm mưu cụ thể nào./.
