Nghệ sĩ Tự Long làm giám đốc Nhà hát Chèo Quân đội

Nghệ sĩ Tự Long được bổ nhiệm làm giám đốc Nhà hát Chèo Quân đội, thay nghệ sĩ Quốc Trượng nghỉ hưu.

Tại lễ nhậm chức chiều 30/12 ở Hà Nội, anh cho biết sẽ cùng tập thể nhà hát phát huy truyền thống 70 năm "chiếu chèo nghệ sĩ - chiến sĩ" trong công cuộc bảo tồn văn hóa, nghệ thuật dân tộc, cũng như có nhiều đổi mới sáng tạo để góp phần phát triển sân khấu nước nhà. Trước đó, nghệ sĩ 10 năm giữ chức phó giám đốc của đơn vị.

Nghệ sĩ Tự Long sinh ra trong gia đình có truyền thống nghệ thuật. Bố mẹ anh là cặp vợ chồng nghệ sĩ dân ca Tự Lẫm - Minh Phức, đều được Nhà nước trao danh hiệu Nghệ sĩ Ưu tú. Từ nhỏ, anh thừa hưởng tình yêu âm nhạc từ bố mẹ. Thế nhưng khi hết phổ thông, bố mẹ khuyên anh theo nghề khác cho đỡ vất vả. Nghệ sĩ từng học nghề mộc, chạy xe ôm, dự định sang nước ngoài làm việc, sau cùng vẫn vào khoa chèo của Đại học Sân khấu Điện ảnh.

Năm 1998, anh tốt nghiệp, vào Đoàn chèo Tổng cục Hậu cần (tên cũ của Nhà hát Chèo Quân đội), đi lên từ những vai nhỏ. Ngoài sân khấu, anh nổi tiếng qua các tiểu phẩm trong chương trình Gặp nhau cuối tuần và Táo quân - Gặp nhau cuối năm. Anh và nghệ sĩ Xuân Bắc là cặp diễn ăn ý, thường cùng nhau xuất hiện trên nhiều sân khấu. Anh được phong tặng danh hiệu Nghệ sĩ Ưu tú năm 2012 và Nghệ sĩ Nhân dân năm 2015. Gần đây, anh gây chú ý khi tham gia Anh trai vượt ngàn chông gai - chương trình ca hát dành cho 33 gương mặt nam trên 30 tuổi, hoạt động ở nhiều lĩnh vực trong showbiz.
